The Online Store is Up and Running, also I saw Marilyn Manson in concert.
So, if you’ve been clicking around the site, you’ve seen that I’ve had the store made for a while now, but I’ve just ‘opened’ it today, so it’s possible to buy a gloomies t-shirt now! I have a couple other items that I’ll be adding over the next few weeks.
In other news, I ended up at a Marilyn Manson concert on Sunday. That was pretty fun, and rather random. I’m not a huge fan but I like the stuff I’ve heard. Beautiful People and his version of Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of These) are on my iPod. And I have enough articles of clothing to let me pass for goth from time to time. Anyway, I ended up at the concert because my friend was given two free tickets. She’s studying massage therapy, and she isn’t allowed to charge for the massages she gives until she’s certified. However, she can accept gifts and another friend of hers had given her the tickets as a thank you for a bunch of massages. However, the day of the concert, said other friend was sick from running a marathon, and I got the call. I was needed to put on some black and go to a concert.
It was actually pretty sweet from my perspective, although various reviews have called it one of his weaker performances. He was apparently feeling ill and he cut his set list short, but I had never seen him before, so what did I know? We had floor tickets and we were able to push thought the tightly packed mosh to about 4 or 5 bodies away from the stage. It would have been kinda cool to say we’d gotten all the way to the front, but I’m glad we didn’t because he was periodically spitting beer into the crowd, and again, he was feeling pretty sick. I only got hit in the head once by a crowd surfer, and it wasn’t very hard. That’s one of the down sides of being tall. One of the upsides is not getting knocked down in moshpits, and being able to see over other moshpeople’s heads.
So, Manson sang both the songs I like and there was a lot of jumping, so overall I’m glad I ended up at the show. I might have felt upset if I’d seen his other shows and was looking forward to this one for weeks and I’d paid money to be there though. During the break after the opening band some people we’re taking about how great his other concerts had been, building it up in my mind like he was going to fly around the stage, but he pretty much just had a different hat for each song. Once, he made like he was going to throw one of his hats into the audience and then he didn’t which I found bizarrely endearing. He needs that hat for other shows. There was a lot of work put in by the fog machine, some kick ass lights, and a couple of different fabric backdrops, which were all good. He also lit a bible on fire, and there was some confetti during a few songs, but nothing unexpected.
At the end, some stagehands threw some guitar picks into the crowd and I got one. Not a bad night.
That’s my story,
